Civil Liability Certificates

Dear Ship Owners & Managers

Please read the following update regarding the issuance of CLC (Tanker) and Bunker CLC certificates from the United Kingdom Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

January 29th 2010 is the renewal deadline for 2010/11 CLC & Bunker CLC certificates. Any applications received after this date may not be ready in time for the 20th February insurance start date.  This deadline does not apply to UK flagged vessels, who will be given priority at all times.

Electronic applications

We are now accepting applications via e-mail, using form MSF 3241 which can be found on our website; www.ukshipregister.co.uk (or sent via email upon request, see contact details below). At this time, we can only accept e-mail applications from vessels insured with certain P&I clubs (Currently members of the International Group and a few others). Please see page three of the application form, or contact us for the full list.

Advantages of using MSF 3241 include being able to apply for up to 35 certificates using one application form, and not having to submit paper applications.

Please note that MSF 3241 can be used for e-mailed applications only. Any MSF 3241 forms received other than by e-mail will be disregarded. Please continue to use MSF 3233 for postal applications.

Price list

£16 – per certificate (not per vessel)

£25 – courier charge (required if outside the UK or neighbouring countries)

Flag state changes

The following flags have ratified the convention since 20th February 2009 and will therefore be issuing the own certificates for the 2010/11 renewal:

• Antigua & Barbuda
• Australia
• Belgium
• China
• Ireland
• Kiribati
• Malta
• Panama
• Republic of Korea
• Romania
• Russia
• Saint Kitts and Nevis

The following flags will have ratified the convention by 20th February 2010:

• Barbados 15/1/10
• Canada 2/1/10
