- General Arrangement (GA) (To be of suitable scale – 1:200. To show plan and profile and compartment definition).
- Fire & Safety plans (showing structural fire protection arrangements, location of all fire detection and extinguishing equipment, means of escape, location and nature of all life saving equipment and emergency lighting).
- Plans of piping arrangements (covering bilge lines and oily water arrangements), ballast lines, fuel oil lines, tank arrangements including capacities, fresh and sanitary water distribution).
- Plan of electrical arrangements (showing distribution of emergency supply).
- Plan of crew accommodation. (May be included on GA).
- Navigation light arrangements. (May be included on other drawings).
- Details of remote machinery stops, valves and vent flaps. (May be included on other drawings).
- Cargo Securing Manual
- Crude Oil Washing/Inert Gas System/Oil
- Density Monitor Manuals
- Procedures & Arrangements Manual
- Copies of existing statutory certificates
- Shipboard Oil Pollution Emergency Plans (SOPEP) Manual
- Stability Information (to include computer calculations).
- Details of structural fire protection
- Details of type approval for Fire, LSA and MARPOL equipment
- Details of type approval for Bridge Navigation and radio equipment
- Evidence that an effective Safety Management System has been implemented in accordance with the ISM Code if applicable.
- LRIT Conformance Test Report (issued by a UK authorised ASP)
Much of the statutory survey work for which the UK Ship Register is responsible is delegated to the classification societies. The following list of the main certificates indicates which ones are issued by the classification societies and which are issued by the UK Ship Register.

In addition there may be other certificates required for special types of vessel.
*At the time of transfer, arrangements are needed for a new Mobile Maritime Service Identifier (MMSI) number to be issued and for the EPIRB and GMDSS radio equipment to be programmed with the UK protocol. More information can be obtained through your CAM or CSM.
