When a craft is registered, any changes that would affect the Certificate of Registry must be notified to us at the UK Ship Register – RSS in Cardiff at the address shown above. If registered owner(s) change address we must be notified of the new address by letter.
Documents required to change ownership
Should you wish to change the ownership of the fishing vessel you have registered on the UK Ship Register, you will be required to submit the following:

| Original Bill of Sale/Receipt (for vessels with Simple Registration) | |
| Original Bills of Sale going back to the previous registered owner (for vessels with Full Registration ONLY) | |

To change the name or port of a Fishing Vessel
Should you wish to change the name or the port of a fishing vessel registered on the UK Ship Register, you will be required to submit the following:

To change the engine details
Should the engine details of the fishing vessel registered on the UK Ship Register change, you will be required to submit to us the original receipt or invoice for the new engine; and a declaration of Maximum Continuous Engine Power, along with the appropriate fee, details of which are available on this website
To change the Tonnage/Dimensions
Should the tonnage, dimensions or use of the fishing vessel registered on the UK Ship Register change, you will need to notify us and submit the original Certificate of Measurement; an ITC 69 Certificate (for vessels of 15 metres and over), along with the appropriate fee, details of which are available on this website.
